We purchased a cheaper camera on ebay, however it did not work right, it was all static. We purchased this one before our second child was born. We had been using our previous set for 2 years befor adding this camera to it. I think this looks better than our first one. The picture is clearer, and colors are more vibrant.
Anyone thinking of this versus the new small sleek looking ones, go with this one. Ours has been quite abused, but still works perfect. Also for the handheld, get the 2.5" screen, the smaller one is just too small.
We were given this camera and video monitor for a baby shower . What a generous gift for first time parents that jump at every cry and whimper. Being able to monitor baby puts you at ease. We even had the power button go out on the monitor after a year, sent it back to Summer Infant co., and they shipped us a new one within five days. Good quality product and good service. Would recommend this Summer Infant Monitor and camera to anyone. Thanks.
