A great deal! Excellent product, with a great price.

After reading some negative reviews, I cannot understand some complaints. Video quality is great, crystal clear, and everything works perfectly. I bought it for my niece, and have absolutely no regrets.
When our second son was born, we knew we would need a monitoring system that could watch two rooms at the same time. This one seemed like a great idea, so we bought a single camera set and one extra camera. The product arrived within a couple of days, which was a pleasant surprise (we ordered it four days before Christmas and it still arrived only two days later!), but on opening the box, we were immediately concerned. The monitor receiver and single camera were in an original box (unsealed), but the second camera was not properly packaged, just put in a plastic bag and dropped into the Priority Mail box with the other package - no original or even protective packaging or instruction manual came with it. And we got no invoice, no receipt, no order confirmation. Not even in an e-mail. We made the mistake of ordering directly from the manufacturer to save a few dollars, and we paid for that.

When we tried to set up the monitor, we were seriously disappointed. For three weeks we tried every possible configuration, but could not get either camera to work properly in our older son's room. They both worked ok (not great) in the baby's room. We tried both cameras on all four frequencies and about eight different positions, but could not get a clear picture and sound from our oldest son's room. I take that back. If my husband stood on his toes and held the camera up in the middle of the room, and I held the monitor receiver sideways next to the sliding glass door in our family room, we could get a sort of clear signal. But the second one of us moved, we lost it. We unplugged our old monitor, our cordless phones, even our wireless router for our internet, and still could not get a clear signal. We could get the video to work acceptably (still not great), but if we had the sound on at all, there was non-stop static and really annoying popping sounds at regular intervals. If we turned it up enough to be able to hear anything in the boys' rooms at all, the static was ridiculously loud.

Another issue we had was that we could only monitor one room at a time. The monitor we bought had a single camera and we purchased the add-on. It was advertised as being able to support four cameras. But if we wanted to switch between two cameras, we had to do it manually. If we wanted to turn on the auto-cycle feature, it would spend five seconds on the loud static of each of the two frequencies not being used before switching back to the erratic static of one of the cameras we had on.

There was no customer service number on the packaging, and because we made the mistake of ordering directly from the manufacturer, the only way we could find to contact the company was to look up our order history on PayPal to find some contact information. All PayPal had was a snail mail address and an e-mail address. We chose to e-mail them, since it had already been three weeks. They ignored us for two weeks. So we disputed the charge, and then they finally contacted us, claiming that our original request for help had gone straight to spam. After a month of extremely frustrating communication (you'd think they'd hire at least one person who speaks English to help handle customer service issues!), they finally agreed to take it back, but not only did we have to pay to ship it back (frustrating, but not unexpected), they would not refund the original shipping cost (still not surprising), and they charged a 15% restocking fee!!!!! NOT cool, not expected, not previously stated in any policy. We were NOT happy.

We ended up buying another camera for our three year old Summer Infant Deluxe Day & Night Handheld Color Video Monitor with 2.5" Screen - Blue and we switch back and forth manually between cameras. We've never had a problem with this camera, and we love it. Still.
