AGPtek Interference Free Digital Wireless Video Monitor Handheld Portable 2.5 Video Color Baby Monitor -(Day & Night) (Video & Audio) Infant Nursery Monitor with rechargeable receiver w/2 Packs CCTV Surveillance Cameras (1 Plus 2 pink and blue)" Review

AGPtek Interference Free Digital Wireless Video Monitor Handheld Portable 2.5 Video Color Baby Monitor -(Day & Night) (Video & Audio) Infant Nursery Monitor with rechargeable receiver w/2 Packs CCTV Surveillance Cameras (1 Plus 2 pink and blue)
Sometimes you do get what you pay for. This product is a nice idea but the one I received is going back after only two days. The "baby lights" on both cameras go on an off on their own whim. One camera has since quit transmitting but its lights still work. The clip-on camera and the surprisingly good reception is nice but the product didn't even make it a full 24 hour period of use. I'm going to try to return for credit, nice 15% restocking fee + shipping, and invest in a better quality device.

Earcheck Middle Ear Monitor Review

Earcheck Middle Ear Monitor Review
I love this product! I wish I would have found it sooner. I kept taking my 6 month old to the Dr. thinking he had an ear infection and he didnt. When I wouldnt take him in, is when he would have one! (would find out on routine exams.) There is no more guess work, its easy, well worth the money. It saves time, and gives moms piece of mind. I do have to say it took several practice times to get it right. You have to have the device positioned in the ear canal. And if you dont, it will give inconsistent reading or say there is no fluid. But after playing around with it a couple times, I got a consistent reading every time. And now that I know how to position the device... ITS A GREAT PRODUCT I think!
We have 3 young children at home and recently viruses had been going through our home. Our oldest child had been diagnosed with an ear infection but our 2nd child was just acting irritable. That same day we got the Earcheck device in the mail and so my wife checked all three children. The Earcheck diagnosed my oldest child's ear infection (which the doctor had diagnosed 2 days prior). It also found an ear infection in my second child (scoring 5 in one ear, and 2 in the other), our baby indicated that there was no infection in either ear. My wife then made an appointment with our Pediatrician and sure enough our 2nd child had an ear infection in one ear and another one starting in the other. We are very happy with the results.

Digital Wireless Video Audio Baby Monitor with Night Vision, Lullabies, Temperature, Motion Alarm and 2x Camera Set Review

Digital Wireless Video Audio Baby Monitor with Night Vision, Lullabies, Temperature, Motion Alarm and 2x Camera Set Review
We had purchased the ipcam baby monitor a couple months ago when our baby girl was born. The monitor has been awesome. There was a little glitch and David (IT support) was able to ship a new camera out to me ASAP.

We were so happy with the camera we decided to buy a couple of home monitoring cameras as well. As I will be going back to work, we are getting a baby sitter. We are also very impressed with the cameras capabilities (view from iphone & husbands computer at work) We will be able to monitor our baby from where ever we go. Thanks again to David who help my husband set up the system. David has a LOT of patience :)

I have already recommended the baby camera to a girlfriend having a baby soon. I also recommended it to a parent of a special needs child who gets therapy in the basement. You can never be too careful. My child is worth every penny.
I was using the Summer Day and Night monitor. It did the job, but it was hard to see my little one on the monitor and eventually the volume wheel stopped working properly. This monitor is incredible and I'm glad I bought the one with two cameras.

The view is closer so you'll want to cameras to have a view of both sides of the crib. Or, just place one camera very high to get a zoom out view. The monitor itself is so much easier to view than other monitors. Very clear picture. I can finally see him breathing it's so clear. I have the same complaint as a previous reviewer on the sound. The sleep feature is hard to get used to but it does work. The camera and the sound come on when there is sound.

On my wish list to make this camera better would be a zoom feature and an option to keep the sound on at all times. I enjoy how light the monitor is and how fun it's apple shape is. For the price I don't think you could find much better. I did a great deal of research before deciding to spend the money on this one.

I am a 24/7 caregiver for a spouse with dementia. This has worked very well for me when I cannot be in the same room all the time. I have one camera in the bedroom for naps, and one in living room near recliner. It works on both floors of our 2400 sq,ft townhome.
I bought the single camera version of this product. The picture is very clear, and there is no interference. I also found that I can plug the monitor in to my USB Blackberry charger, so I don't have to drag the charger around the house when I forget to keep the monitor charged. We bought a big name set first, but had to return it due to interference. I'm so glad to be able to see and hear my baby finally!

Fisher-Price Sounds 'n Lights Monitor Review

Fisher-Price Sounds 'n Lights Monitor Review
This monitor worked reasonably well for the first few weeks, but ever since then it has been essentially worthless. We almost never get a signal any more - we just hear static. Sometimes switching channels (there are two) and/or turning the unit on and off will make the unit work for a few seconds. When we do manage to get a signal it is still overloaded with static and, if we move the receiver or walk in front of it, prone to interference. The receiver is typically located about fifteen feet away from our baby's room, in a straight line and with only one closed door between the receiver and the monitor, so distance and obstructions are not factors. We've also tried changing the batteries and have not noticed any improvement.

I wish I had looked at the Amazon ratings before we bought this. It is a piece of garbage and has deterred me from buying anything from Fisher Price ever again.
This monitor has been wonderful for us! As long as you take the time to read and follow the set-up instructions, do the testing, and find the proper channel for your location it works like a dream. I can take it all over my very large yard and never anything but perfectly clear reception. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Especially if you have lots of computer and electronic devices as we do. Never any interference! Only drawback is the battery life. it runs them down quickly, but worth living with that for the overall great performance. Been using it for a year and a half and would absolutely buy again

Summer Infant Secure Sounds 2.4 GHz Digital Audio Monitor with 2 Parent Receivers - Silver Review

Summer Infant Secure Sounds 2.4 GHz Digital Audio Monitor with 2 Parent Receivers - Silver Review
I have had three baby monitors, and this one was by far the BEST. Maybe I just got lucky, given all the negative reviews, but ours was fantastic, great range, no static, and I LOVE the charging base (I hate the ones that only have rechargeable batteries. No parent with an infant has time to deal with rechargeable batteries, or the frustration of when batteries get low -- give me a plug so it works all the time). This one you can plug in and prop it on the charging dock or carry it around. It is all convenience and no hassle. I lost my original Summer 2.4Ghz monitor and have been meaning to get another one, but couldn't find this one again for a long time. I'm so glad to find it again.
I hesitantly purchased this monitor after reading so many negative reviews, but took a chance because it was in our price range and is 2.4GHz instead of the 900MHz one we had previously, which was picking up too much interference in our house from electronics and cell phones. Overall, I am very pleased with this monitor. It does not have a constant hum like our 900 MHz one did, and does not pick up interference from our many electronics and cell phone. I do see what other reviewers mean about the blue light being a bit much; in the dark, it looks like a strobe light. That is the only negative we have experienced, and I plan just to put a piece of masking tape over the light to dim it a bit. We have an 1800 sq-ft house, and have not had any range issues like others have mentioned. In addition to good range from receiver to transmitter, it has good range from baby to transmitter, meaning it picks up noises far away from the base station transmitter. Also, it has a sleek look to it, with modern silver color, a nice rechargeable stand, and a short antenna. It also has a belt clip for easy portability. Overall, a very nice, clear-speaker, low-interference, sleek-looking, well-priced baby monitor. Give it a try; you can always return it.

Levana BABYVIEW20 Interference Free Digital Wireless Video Baby Monitor with Night Light Lullaby Camera Review

Levana BABYVIEW20 Interference Free Digital Wireless Video Baby Monitor with Night Light Lullaby Camera Review
When I received my Baby View monitor I was very pleased with the look and video quality. At the time I was still pregnant and hadn't actually put it to use. When the time finally came that I was going to put my daughter in her own bedroom my husband and I set the camera up and laid my daughter down. She went to sleep perfectly, then to my suprise I realized I could no longer hear the quiet sound of her breathing. I thought maybe we had it on the wrong setting. It was almost like it was in the VOX mode but still showed the video. My husband and I read the manuel front to back and played with all of the buttons, finally I called the customer service line. They were very nice and said that there must be a problem with it and that someone would call me back in the morning, as it was 10:30pm by this time. The next day a women called me back from the company telling me that this is the way the monitor is supposed to function. The sound turns off until it detects a loud noise so that you do not get a lot of annoying background noise. I do not mind hearing some minor background noise to be able to roll over and hear my daughter breathing in the middle of the night. I am very unhappy with this product. This detail is not mentioned in any of the product info or in the manuel. If I would have known this I would have never considered buying this monitor.
This monitor is an acceptable device for our needs. It's not perfect, but it didn't cost a bundle either. The picture is good. The screen is large enough to see detail. I can see my baby breathing when attached to the crib side. The screen could stand to dim more for night time use in our bedroom, it's at least as bright as a night light & usually right next to your face, so that could be a problem for some people. The VOX option doesn't turn on at quiet enough noises, so we don't bother with it. The battery life after 8 months of use is still +4 hours. The volume will come on throughout the time it's running, making strange shifts from no sound to a white noise sound. About half of the time, this is due to an actual noise. It's durable, I drop it weekly & though the antenna cover broke once, I was able to fit it back on without it continuing to fall off all the time. The distance that it gets the camera's signal seems to have shrunk a small amount. I can still be two floors away & have a good signal but more than 15 feet outside of our house & I lose it. I used to be able to go further out into our yard. Also, there does seem to be some interference with our dual-band wireless internet connection if near a computer that is using it, it may cut out or run slow but not always. Really though, this is a good product, like I said, for the money. I'll buy another one if someone would tell me if two can run in the same house without interfering with each other.

Wireless Color LCD Handheld Monitor and Camera Review

Wireless Color LCD Handheld Monitor and Camera Review
It is what it claims: a good monitor with clear day and night pictures. Small and compact, making it very easy to carry around the house. some interference but overall a good monitor.
I got this one first. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is it runs only on 2.4mhz. It has very clear sound and picture. ONE BIG PROBLEM. It runs on 2.4mhz. It crashed my wireless router! So I had to take it back.

DO NOT purchase if you run any 2.4mhz products in your home. You can purchase routers with a different frequency. I am on my 3rd video monitor, and I want to purchase this again, (do to all the CRAP out there, and just get another router.

Fisher-Price Ready 2Wear Monitor Review

Fisher-Price Ready 2Wear Monitor Review
Everything that happened to the other reviewers also happened to me. The most frustrating and dangerous of them all is that the monitor will turn off without notice--even when it is plugged in!!!! It does not go 800 feet as it claims. I can't even get my mail without the out of range alarm going off. I have been searching for a recall of the monitor, simply because of the danger of turning off without notice, but haven't found anything.
I had registered for a $100 baby monitor, that is small and can clip on me, as I move around.

Though, when I was in TJMaxx this weekend, I found this Fisher Price, Ready 2 Wear baby monitor for $[...]. It seemed too good to be true. So, my husband and I bought it.

We live in a condo, one floor. So, we don't really need anything with a really long range. Even though my baby is not here yet, I have already been able to use it. I babysit a 1yr old boy. And as, he naps in the other room, I have the baby monitor on, so I can hear him if I do laundry, or am at the other end of the condo. Seems to be perfect for my needs. So, glad no one had to spend the needless $100 on buying me a monitor I did not need.

Sony NTM-910 900 MHz Babycall Nursery Monitor [White] Review

Sony NTM-910 900 MHz Babycall Nursery Monitor [White] Review
We've been using this sound monitor for 5 years now, and it has been utterly dependable. There have been only two drawbacks: (1) The range is not all that great. With our daughter's room at one side of the house, and our room at the other, we have had to move the pickup unit to far wall of her bedroom so it will be as close as possible to ours. (2) There are 9 channels on our older model. When we started using this 5 years ago, any channel worked fine. But, times change, and there is a lot more RF interference: it will occasionally pick up our neighbor's cell phone conversations (not that interesting!); and the background suppression is now being affected by something---we haven't quite figured out what. Having the full 27 channels this model offers is doubtless an improvement over the version we have.
I've had this product for 2.5 yrs now, and I have to say, in general, it's a good piece of equipment. It's sturdy, long lasting, and dependable in most instances. It's annoying that if it rains outside or if the weather is not great, then the out of range indicator beeps until you either turn it off or move it to a place that might get better reception. However, I do like that you can put it on the sound activation mode which blocks out a lot of extraneous background noise. Here's my biggest beef with this item... though it indicates that there are various volume settings, the truth is, there are only two. Those two are 1) no sound and 2)sound so loud that it makes you jump 10 feet off your bed from fright. All my daughter has to do is let out a little cry or even just sit and talk to her stuffed bear and I swear to you the sound is so ear piercing, probably because it does not have any bass, that you immediately want to throw the darned thing out the window. So, be forewarned. Dependable and sturdy, but can be heard by dogs 4 counties over!

MobiCam Ultra Additional Wireless Monitor for use with Mobi Ultra System Review

MobiCam Ultra Additional Wireless Monitor for use with Mobi Ultra System Review
We originally bought this strictly for a traveling monitor since the one we already had in the nursery was large and mounted on the wall. It worked great for a little while, but slowly it deteriorated. It lasted less than a year, with mild use.

Now, 2 years later, I still have it, but only as a short term backup. Once it's on, it works great for about 5 minutes, then the sound will get so scratchy and loud that I have to turn the volume all the way down. After about 30-45 minutes, the picture will start to go out (lots of lines, fuzziness and jumping).

Maybe we got a faulty model or something go messed up during travel - who knows. But based on my experience, I have not/would not recommend this monitor.
I highly suggest this product. I had a problem with one of the receivers and the customer service was so helpful they replaced it right away. It works perfectly for 2 babies. I couldn't be more pleased

Mobicam Wireless Baby Monitoring Bundle Review

Mobicam Wireless Baby Monitoring Bundle Review
PROS:

Good video, audio, and range. Also good value for the money.

Camera is on 2nd floor and video monitor is in basement and

still had good picture and audio. If it is close to limit of

range then it will show fuzz for about 1/2 sec about once a minute

(not bad but not perfect).

Another good feature is that the camera and

base can be powered by AA batteries or supplied power cable. Switching

between power supplies is as easy as plugging or unplugging the power

cable to the unit while it is still on. No problem.

Night vision works well, but need to have camera probably within 5 feet

of what you want to look at unless going to have a lamp or something else

on in the room. If a lamp is on (that is not bright enough to switch the unit

back to color) then viewing distance is probably 12 feet. Note: the unit

switches automatically between color and black&white depending on the amount

of light in the room.

CONS:

One drawback is the vertical viewing angle of screen is limited so you have to have it at eye level or just prop the front of the unit up by placing a CD

case under the front of it and this will put the screen at the correct

angle (if the base unit is on a desktop); or given the wide horizontal

viewing angle of the unit you can just place it on its side and still

see the image clearly (although then the image you are looking at is sideways).

These cameras on these units can be angled about

30 degrees up or down, I would suggest the manufacturer do the same

for the video screen or put the screen in the base unit along the other

axis so that vertical has a large viewing angle.

OVERALL:

Overall it does what it is suppose to do and is a good value for the money.

4moms Goodnight Sleep Trainer - Gray Review

4moms Goodnight Sleep Trainer - Gray Review
This little device is simple. It keeps track of how long baby sleeps, wakes, and cries. When baby is crying it has a countdown timer that helps you space out your visits to comfort and support the baby. Each day the visits are spaced a little further apart, so by the time 10 days have gone by, your baby should have learned to self-soothe, which helps her sleep longer and healthier stretches without crying. I just started using it and the only thing I don't like it the loud chiming sound when it is time to check on the baby. I wish there was a way to disable the sound or only make it chime once.
This timer is awesome. It's a simple idea for a common problem that offers a simple solution. I use it every night to keep track of my son's sleeping habits. It has helped so much in getting him in a regular routine of putting himself to sleep. It is worth it.

Fisher-Price Private Connection Monitor with Dual Receivers - White Review
This monitor had so much static no matter what channel it was on. We bought a Fisher Price monitor 4 years ago and absolutely loved it! After getting dropped for the billionth time and being on non-stop for four years, the base unit stopped working and we went for a replacement. This was not even close in quality and performance! When the sound is turned down low enough that the static isn't aggravating, you can't hear the baby. We're returning it as soon as we can find a replacement.
This a great monitor, I have been using it for close to 4 years now and I am getting ready to purchase a 2nd set for our new baby. I leave one plugged in next to bed at all times and have never had a problem (it still works on battery power as well). The range is quite long, you can go pretty far outside and it still works great, the only noise we get from them is from the white noise machine or humidifier we keep in her bedroom. I was happy to see I could still purchase this for this time around since our kids sleep upstairs and we sleep down we need to have a monitor longer.

Astak Pan & Tilt Wireless IP Network Camera Monitoring System with Night Vision, Motion Sensor, and Built-in-Audio Review

Astak Pan & Tilt Wireless IP Network Camera Monitoring System with Night Vision, Motion Sensor, and Built-in-Audio Review
Pro:

Image quality: Very good. Night vision. Astounding. was able clearly see across a 20ft room in near total darkness. Verified to work with Droid - the cam automatically shifts to a smaller picture size to conserve bandwidth (from 640/480 to 320/240). Image detection works nicely. Email alerts seem to work quite well. DynamicDNS Support built in, though I did not test. Likewise UPnP support.

Remote control via both web and droid is great as well, though the 2 second delay takes getting used to.

Cons:

Yoics. I just don't like having someone else in control of my data. Camera will work just fine without it, if you know how to do port forwarding.

No autofocus. Found this one accidentally - you need to manually adjust the lens focus for the field of interest.

No Zoom. With all the other toys, that would have been great

"capture" and "record" do not work on Macintosh platform - though the support person I chatted with said that they are aware of it.

Wireless: Full disclosure, I'm not sure if this is the router, or the cam but:

Camera claims to support WPA2/AES - During setup, it will "test" the connection, and declare it good. Then pull the ethernet cable and... no network. AES works with other equipment in the house.

I switched it down to WPA/TKIP and the wireless is working fine now.

You had better know what you are doing, as the manual is less than helpful at times. Get your kid to help out :D
The only thing good about this experience was that the camera was delivered by the date specified. Other than that it was a horror story. I have excellent Wi-Fi skills and, after 15 hours of attempts to get it to work, I finally returned the item, in total frustration (Amazon did quickly issue a total refund).

I got this camera to work with my Motorola Droid smart phone. I only decided to purchase it , after talking with tech support at Astak. They assured me, that although the ad refers to Iphone compatibility only, they had upgraded it to work with Droids as well.

As advertised, it was easy enough to register the camera (at [...]) and have it "recognized". However, as soon as I tried to get it to work with my Droid phone, it disappeared from the website. Tech support (which never returns call messages or e-mail messages), finally picked-up the phone after about 10 attempts. He advised that my camera was the older "silver" (not black) version, but a simple "firmware" download, would resolve the problem. I did the download, and, as I stated earlier, after 15 hours of work, the camera was never again recognized, or functional, remotely (either through my phone or through my computer).

Because the promises of the camera are so potentially fantastic (night vision, instant notification on my Droid, after any motion activated event, total remote control from that same phone, as well as the capacity to listen and talk, all done through a wireless network) I am not giving up yet. Just to be sure that the camera claims are not totally bogus, I ordered the black version, from a different non-Amazon supplier (on the Amazon website). You see, Amazon, currently stocks only the older "silver" camera, and could not advise me when the black version would be stocked.

The alternate supplier went out of their way to get me the camera in time for my trip to our other house (where the camera will be installed). So with the newer version, (Black Mole), in hand, I am off to install and test it. I will give a follow-up review, after completing the test. I am hoping that the problem was either that I got a "lemon", or that the difficulty arrose in trying to download the new firmare to the older camera. My thinking is that the current version, with the new firmware already on it, may still work the way the manufacturer promises. I will let you know

Philips Avent DECT baby monitor SCD520 - Baby monitoring system - DECT - 120-channel Review

Philips Avent DECT baby monitor SCD520 - Baby monitoring system - DECT - 120-channel Review
I had the old Philips SCD 589 for our first child. Never had a problem with it being too quiet and have depended upon it to wake us up over a noisy A/C unit. The old unit bit the dust after being dropped one too many times. That new unit, like the old one, is great....fantastic range, silence (no hiss), adjustable sensitivity, etc. However, one big caveat is that you can no longer remotely activate the lullaby from the parent unit. For some reason the US/Canada market did not get that feature activated. For us, the lullaby has been a great way to help a fussy baby get back to sleep in short order without actually having to get out of bed. Lacking this remote activation in the US models is a deal breaker. Sadly, we will be returning it to Amazon....it is too bad they won't ship the European one to the US from Amazon UK.
This is the best monitor we've ever had and we've gone through several others (Sony, Graco, Fisher Price, Safety 1st) before deciding to plunk down the money for this one. I would've given it 5-stars if it let you remotely turn on the lullabies from the parent unit, but it does not. That said, we do not regret buyting this monitor at all! It is an excellent monitor and the walkie-talkie feature has been extremely useful! I can't imagine not having that feature in a baby monitor now! After having a few monitors that had the volume control dial, I was thrilled that this had a push-button digital volume control. I could never get the same volume using the dial because they weren't sensitive enough. Most nights we have the volume at 1 dash and we can hear our son very well if he gets upset and cries. We can even walk outside to the mailbox and still get reception. The lullabies aren't the greatest quality, but they're decent and it's a lot easier traveling with just this instead of also taking our ipod or lullaby CD so our son could listen to the same bedtime music each night. I also love that it has a built-in thermometer since the rooms in our house vary greatly in temperature. Our room would feel cold and I would worry about our son's room before we had this monitor since I didn't know how cold his room was. Now that we have the monitor, I don't have to worry because if it gets too cold or hot, the parent unit will start beeping. I highly recommend this product! Another son is on the way so I am about to buy another one of these awesome monitors because it is the best by far!

Summer Infant Secure Sounds 2.4 Ghz Digital Monitor Review

Summer Infant Secure Sounds 2.4 Ghz Digital Monitor Review
This monitor worked fine for about 6 months. Then it started this out of range beeping everyone has been talking about. Annoying, but rarely did it during the night so i could deal with it. After 1 year of use, the speaker must have gone out. The receiver lights up but no sound comes out. I have no idea how long my poor son was crying before i heard him.
I got this monitor as a baby shower gift and I loved it! Never had any problems with it. We have taken it on vacation with us many times (since we would all have to share a room) & was surprised how far we could go and still hear our little one. Not that we would venture too far....still, you can hear every peep and breath that your child takes. Highly recommend it.

MOBI MobiCam System Review

MOBI MobiCam System Review
I received this monitor as a hand me down and have been using it for the past 7 months. I live in a 2 story townhouse and the monitor works fine wether I'm down the hall or downstairs. The picture is clear on day or night mode. I didn't give it 5 stars because there is occasionaly some static lines across the monitor and the camera doesn't have the best mounting system. We just set it on the edge of the crib and it works fine there. Both the monitor and camera have been dropped numerous times and they are still holding up well. I would recommend this product.
I bought this product, and then 3 weeks later found out that it was for sale 30 dollars cheaper than what I paid for it. I ordered myself the summer infant handheld monitor. I ordered this one for my sister. The monitor goes through batteries like crazy. Fully charged batteries will only last about 2 hours when not plugged into the ac adaptor. My summer infant monitor has a battery like a cordless phone, it recharges while plugged into adaptor. If I had known that the batteries did not recharge while plugged into the adaptor, I would not have purchased the product.

Lorex LW2001 Digital Wireless Portable Color LCD Surveillance System (White) Review

Lorex LW2001 Digital Wireless Portable Color LCD Surveillance System (White) Review
Preface: This is my first ever wireless camera, which I am using as a baby monitor, one of the uses advertised on the product packaging.

Color reproduction is extremely poor, even in a well lit room. I do not expect the video to be as vivid or natural as the photos shown on the product packaging, but the color is very washed out, noticeably worse than any webcam that I have ever seen under similar lighting conditions.

Placing the monitor unit anywhere near (i.e., within 3 feet of) my notebook computer completely disrupts the 802.11g wireless network transmission, making wireless networking impossible.

Thus, although this product works adequately as a security camera, it is totally unsuitable for use as a baby monitor.

Fisher-Price Mom Response Audio Baby Monitor, 900MHz - White/Grey Review

Fisher-Price Mom Response Audio Baby Monitor, 900MHz - White/Grey Review
Was really disappointed with my purchase. We very rarely use this, mainly because we have to be so close for it to work, that if our infant cries, we here him, not the monitor. We do however use the base station for music and light, it is nice. The only reason I am giving it two stars instead of one is because of the usefulness of the base station, and the lights on top.(nice when watching a movie and cant hear the baby)

Would be a great product if they cleaned up the static and increased the range.

The First Years: Two Receiver 49 MHZ Monitor Review

The First Years: Two Receiver 49 MHZ Monitor Review
Out of all the baby monitors this one is the best one I have found for a reasonable price. It's range is amazing! I can go out side and do yard work and it doesn't fuzz in and out. It really is the best for your money. My two kids have often grabbed the antenna swinging it around (which usually ruins monitors) and it has still survived with no problems at all. I think I will purchase another set to have two sets on hand and just for "just in case". We've had this for two years and we hope to have it much longer.

BébéSounds Angelcare Movement Sensor w. Sound Monitor w. Two Parents' Units Review

BébéSounds Angelcare Movement Sensor w. Sound Monitor w. Two Parents' Units Review
I was taking a nap in the room with my son's crib, when the alarm went off. I jumped up and ran to the crib and he was not breathing. No chest rising, no movement. I screamed and poked and prodded him until he started to breathe and awaken. Wether he was just in a very, very deep sleep or wether he was not going to breathe again, I don't know and I don't want to know. They say that when they enter very deep sleep like that is when they stop breathing. To me, it appeared he was not breathing. Every night we slept with this monitor on, it gave us tremendous peace of mind. I would NEVER be without one of these. We are now expecting our second child and I will be purchasing one again. (We took our last one on vacation with us and something happened to the sensor pad in the luggage. It lasted a long, long time, but it didn't last through baggage on the airlines. I would recommend packing it in the carry-on next time)

This product is worth every penny.
Do you know it's normal for newborns to stop breathing in their sleep? Most babies have the mechanism in their brain that turns the switch back on, to breathe again. However, some newborns do not have this switch. This is why there is SIDS. Also, did you know....if your baby did stop breathing and you, the parent, knew they stopped breathing-just going and picking them up or even touching them, will also trigger the brain to breathe again (as long as it is right away, as the alarm sounds).

This monitor is worth every penny. We only paid $90 at our local Babies R Us. We did have to call around to a few locations to finally find one of these.

With my first child, I never got any sleep. She was born a few weeks early and was ill due to acid reflex, she couldnt keep any milk down. She was a breastfed baby, but was very weak. Back then, I didn't know about this item, I wish I did. My husband and I would take turns to stay up all night with her, to make sure she was always breathing. As a first time mom, SIDS was a scary thing (still is, even with our second baby). I remember being the most tired I had been at any time in my life. Those first months should have been a lot more joyous.

With my second daughter. She was delivered at 35 weeks (preemie) and was a perfectly healthy baby. However, any type of preemie has an increased chance of SIDS. My preemie still thought she was in my womb and would not wake up at all for the first month at home. She was in a sleeping coma. She wouldn't even want to wake up to eat. I was very worried about her 20 hours of sleeping all day/night. The first few days home I would watch her sleep all night and never sleep myself. By the 3rd day of this, I couldn't handle the no sleep thing, so I read about this item and had to buy it.

LIFE SAVER PRODUCT ALERT!! Get this! It's worth every penny.

Once my husband brought it home, we started to set it up right away. Our crib didn't have a hard base under the mattress, so we measured the crib and went down to Home Depot, to have a slice of ply board/wood cut out to put under the mattress and above the frame/box (the wood piece only cost $5). You MUST have a sturdy bottom to get accurate readings. Once the monitor is set up, you'll need to adjust the level of sensitivity. It may be a bit tricky at first, but only should take a few adjustments. Also, you can have a constant ticking sound on, which is the baby breathing. Dont worry, you do not have to have this ticking sound on, just to know your baby is breathing. For a test run, without the ticking sound on, you may need to have your baby sleep for a nap, then take your baby out, after the nap, without turning or touching the monitor/alarm. Once you walk out of the room, the alarm should go off (because its not picking up any movement). You will know, the alarm is working, if the alarm is sounding, once your baby has been removed from crib. Be aware, if you are walking near the monitor, it is so sensitive, that it picks up footsteps, so the monitor will not trigger if are moving all around the crib.

THANK GOD, I found this item. There were a few times in the first few months, my daughter did stop breathing and the alarm went off. Even though, it's most likely, she would have started breathing on her own. The sense of knowing and the peace of mind is WORTH having this item. I love this alarm. It's a life saver.

Summer Infant Sleek and Secure Multiview Handheld Color Video Monitor, Grey Review

Summer Infant Sleek and Secure Multiview Handheld Color Video Monitor, Grey Review
I BOUGHT THIS MONITOR AND NOT ONLY IS IT MADE CHEAPLY, IT DOES NOT CONNECT PROPERLY TO THE POWER CORD AND LOOSES CONNECTION WHEN THE VIDEO CAMERA IS MOVED....YOU NEED TO TAPE THE WIRE DOWN FOR IT TO WORK...

BAD DESIGN FOR A LOT OF $$$

WAS SUPER EXCITED TO GET THIS, WOULD NOT RECCOMEND AT ALL....
This baby monitor is very cool! You can track up to 4 cameras with one monitor. It's very easy to use. The picture and sound quality are very good. The battery life might be a little short if you are using full visual and a high audio setting, but this hasn't really been a problem for us because most of the time we keep it plugged in. The range is good, so we can go out into the yard and still keep an eye on the little ones inside. It has a handy clip for hands-free use.

MobiCam AV Extra Camera Review

MobiCam AV Extra Camera Review
I got this cam cause i wanted to see futher then 13 feet that my old one could.OH BOY did i got some rang. The sound is awsome and the picture is SOOOOO clear.I LOVE IT. I am so glad i invested the money my next goal is to get the internet thingy for it.
I purchased the add on camera since I have twins. The camera was defective because I was unable to see my child at night. If I lighted one camera I could not see the other child in the other camera. Also there was a lot of clicking when going from one camera to the other. Also their was so much static that it kept me up all night and I was unable to hear my children when they cried. I ordered my camera from an Amazon retailer. ANTONLINE.com and it was nightmare to return. Customer service was horrible and they also do not provide return postage even thought the product did not work. They were unhelpful and rude. So not only is this product useless so was the customer service help. I called Mobi and the customer service rep told me that the static and the clicking is a big complaint about their camera but that a digital version will not come out until the end of 2009 or early 2010. I went with the Levana which is a lot better but I am having some problems with the sound fading out while it is looking for a signal per their customer service rep. I just don't think there is a perfect monitor.

Fisher-Price Long Distance Baby Monitor, 900MHz - White/Grey Review

Fisher-Price Long Distance Baby Monitor, 900MHz - White/Grey Review
We got this as a baby shower gift, and we opened it up before the baby was born. All was well the first time I tested the base and the handset unit when plugged into the wall, so I discarded the packaging.

After the baby was born a month later, however, I tried to put three AAA batteries (not included) into the back of the handset unit to use it. It stopped working--both the AC and DC power sources. I tried taking the batteries out, but it didn't work even when plugged into the wall outlet.

I called Amazon to tell them it was defective, and they said that I couldn't replace the unit because it was no longer available. Instead, they "refunded" me only $34.91 of an $89.95 + tax unit with a gift card. I feel bad for the person who bought this for us at our shower, because they just threw money away. And we're still without a working baby monitor. It's too bad the unit was defective in the first place, and it's really shameful customer service on the part of Amazon.com.

My advice is to shop around! My sister loaned us a Summer Infant, Inc. monitor that has been working well--and it's at least 3, maybe even 6 years old.
I have a complicated house with big stone walls blocking off rooms from each other, so I need audio monitors with good long-range capabilities. I struck out with the Graco Vibe iMonitor, which claims a 2000-ft range, and so I tried this one instead. I can't go from one corner of the house to the other, so instead I have to leave the receiver in one room and turn the volume up pretty high so I can hear it from the rest of the house. With the volume up any appreciable amount, there is a lot of humming and background white noise, that sounds like the fan on my laptop running. So although I am able to listen in on the nursery, I also have to listen to a lot of noise that isn't really there. I just bought the Summer Infant Day & Night video monitor, which also operates at 900 Mhz, and I am amazed at how crisp and low-noise its audio is compared to this Fisher-Price unit. Also, I'm not entirely sure how the red indicator lights work on this receiver, since my baby can be crying his head off and only one LED lights up.

The product didn't cost a whole lot so I'm not too upset about buying it, but I would not recommend the product to any other parents. For audio only, I am much more impressed with the Sony line of monitors and will stick with them from now on.

Summer Infant Day & Night Baby Video Monitor with 5" Screen - White Review

Summer Infant Day & Night Baby Video Monitor with 5
I was very hesitant to buy this monitor but I needed one quickly (my son was coming home from the hospital) and after reading all the reviews I settled on this one. It works great! The sound is awesome, you hear everything! I mean it's not perfect (hence the four stars. The screen flickers sometimes and depending on how close place the monitor by another electronic product it makes this high pitched sound) but it works great for me. I say take a chance if you're considering buying this one.
Awesome camera, great sound, great picture, very durable, very affordable, wonderful product! As the paranoid first-timer, I was scared my little man would stop breathing due to SIDS...rolling over...pulling the cover over his head...being too close to a pillow...etc..etc..etc.! I am SO GLAD we have the video instead of just sound. We co-sleep, so when he naps it is in our bed as well - he tends to roll and twist in his sleep but if I use a wedge he just gets angry he can't move and wakes up! Unfortunately, he hasn't ever been a swaddle baby. This has saved us lots of stress and lets our little guy sleep in peace.

We have used it for about 8 months now. I use it constantly. It has been through all kinds of abuse. The baby has snagged the camera a few times to put it through his own tests and the monitor has been knocked off the arm of the couch or table by one of our cats many, many, times...it keeps on working great. Extremely durable and very clear picture. I will be getting my friends these for their baby showers!

Summer Infant Day & Night Flat Screen Color Video Monitor with 7" LCD Screen Review

Summer Infant Day & Night Flat Screen Color Video Monitor with 7
We got this as a shower gift before our daughter was born. It worked well for a few months and then the on/off button stopped working. We managed to tape a little rubber nub over it to hold it down so it still works, but we have to unplug it to turn it off which is annoying. There also does seem to be a good deal of interference sometimes, and the volume control is not very good. Even on the lowest setting with sound coming out it can be quite loud, we've never turned it above that. We probably would not buy another one, but it has worked well to keep an eye on the kids.
We were about to buy just an audio monitor for our baby, and just luckily we got this audio/video one.

The image quality is very nice. Never had an issue with interference from microwaves or cordless phones.

It's being in uninterrupted operation since two months without problems.

I bought this for my daughter and her husband for their new baby. They LOVE it. They use it every night and it has become a God-send!!! We couldn't be happier. It's a life-saver when baby moves from the bassinet in parents' room, into the crib in his own room! Glad I found it on Amazon and purchased it!!!
Bought this for a nephew who just had twins. They said it was wonderful and even better than they thought it would be. Helps a lot to have the video and the dual monitors so they know when the twins need something and which one.

Safety 1st On-the-Go Nirsery Monitor Review

Safety 1st On-the-Go Nirsery Monitor Review
I'm legally deaf, and I can hear my son in the other room before I can hear anything over this monitor when this monitor is turned to top volume. YET it picks up the light switches, television remote, and the neighbors talking next door. I was going to return this and get a refund just on the basis of it being a horrible monitor, and then the power plug broke on top of everything else. Spend twice as much, get a decent monitor. Half the time there IS NO SOUND. And that's just not because I can't hear it, people with normal hearing can't hear it either. And the other half of the time you can hear your next door neighbors breathing. This monitor has zero redeeming factors.
I bought this for our handicapped son. I wanted to hear him if he needed me during the night. It has worked great. I've had no problems at all. I'm very pleased with it.
