Graco Angelcare Movement Sensor 2 Parent with Sound Monitor Review

Graco Angelcare Movement Sensor 2 Parent with Sound Monitor Review
We're planning only one pregnancy and Alice is our coming baby. As a first trip parents we've heard about many parents that can' sleep afraid of babies sudden death. Even knowing that there are some precautions to reduce the risk of SIDS, like keeping baby with the belly up, it's good to know that we're going to have another eye on our baby 24h / 7day.

We live in a two floors house and is amazing how Graco Angelcare works. After 15 seconds without a movement a bip sounds, 5 seconds later than the alarm. The microphone is very sensitive and the sound in parents unit is not 100% clear but is good.

If you want to relax and take care of your baby, than you should buy one.
I bought this item for my brother's first baby daughter. I was thinking of a gift to give them but couldn't decide on anything since most of the items that you would get for a baby were already given to them. And there are some that they've already bought. Since I'm into tech stuff, I tried to look for baby monitors. Before, I only knew of baby monitors as either cam or speakers. But this item brought baby monitoring to a whole new level. Aside from being able to hear your baby, it would even track movements and breathing. I tested the monitor (will be able to give it to my niece when I get back home in a couple of weeks) and it does pick up breathing. I tried holding my breathe for 20 seconds and it sounded an alarm that can be heard through the receivers. The monitor would also sound an alarm if no movement is detected from the included mat for 20 seconds. The main unit even has a sensitivity switch to adapt to your baby's movements.

The package comes with the mat that is hooked on to the base unit and then 2 receivers for parents. All units (receivers and base) are able to use AAA batteries or plugged in via the adaptors which are included in the package (3 adaptors). I wished that the adaptors were auto volt but they are only 120v units. What's nice about the battery option is that in case of a power failure, the units would automatically go to battery mode. So it automatically uses electrical outlet when plugged in and switches to batteries when unplugged.

This is really a great innovation. Parents would be able to do chores, and sleep soundly at night without worrying how their babies are doing. As I've read from other reviews, this item even saved their baby's life.
